Cucumber help!

I have a 9X9 foot garden in my backyard. It's packed pretty tightly, but I have success with everything I've planted...except cucumbers.

My cucumbers start out fine, but they never turn the right color. I've attached a pic of 2 cukes I just harvested. What's wrong with them? Any ideas?429

I don't know the exact size but they look way to big. I harvest mine at 6 inches max. Once they are too big, the plant thinks that is successively producing seeds and slows down production of fruit. I have noticed that once they get bigger they yellow like that and taste awful. Again though, I don't know what type you have.
