Thread: Growing black pepper... anyone?

    Wow, Hi! I am in zone 8 but I don't think that really matters. It's a tropical plant and I'm growing it in my sun room I would love any info that you can find, I'm having no luck

    Like tea and tobacco, black pepper is something I'd love to try and cultivate one day just for fun. Do let us know how you get on.

    I've been wanting to grow different varieties of peppercorns to make a peppercorn medley, but I'd be lucky to grow black pepper. Maybe this will help: http://forums.gardenweb.com/forums/l...152311306.html

    What sort of climate do you live in? Black pepper is native to warmer regions, and isn't really cultivated in the US that I know of.

    I have never tried to grow black pepper. Would like to try, but I really don't think that it would do too good around where we live.
