Hi was wondering how you go about cutting down conifer hedging, they are about 20ft maximum in height and i have 5-6 trees, they have got to high to handle and are blocking sun light from my garden.

A chain saw, but know this....
The hard part will not be cutting them down, it will be the roots, the roots and stumps will be impossible.
Yeah the roots are a real pig. I've done a good few of them recently.
I use a long polesaw and take the majority of the side branches off, then take them down in a few stages rather than fell them in one. It just makes for a neater easier job, (especially if it's bordering another property or a road or footpath).
Hiring a digger might be the quickest cheapest way to get rid of the rootballs!
