    Unhappy fungi

Have a raised flower bed that has not been a problem for over two years, today the whole bed came out in fungi. What can i do to get rid of the infestation. Also could this have come from cutting grass as 1 or 2 were in lawn when i last cut it. Also how is fungi spread ?

Mushrooms are a sign of healthy soil, organic matter breaking down.

Also, mushrooms are just the fruiting portion of the fungus, which lives below ground.

If you find them unsightly, remove them, knock them over and they'll disappear by the next day.

But otherwise do not worry about it, fungus just turns organic matter into rich soil and that is a good thing.

In anycase, likely you had a buried log or other wood and had a pretty good rain for a few days. That usually causes mushroom growth. Often what happens is a tree dies and then all around it (up to 15 feet or more away from it depending on tree size) you'll find mushrooms from the roots being broken down.
