I just purchased a Turkey Fig tree from Lowes. Can I transplant it now or should I wait until the spring to transplant it outisde?
Are Turkey figs actually yummy? I like those regular blue/purple figs a lot.

HI Sarah,
I would get that Fig in the ground ASAP to get it established. Hopefully we will get rain this year and the rain will help it set it's roots! Turkey Fig trees are the most cold-hardy fig trees out there, so even if we have a freeze like last winter, it should be fine. They plant it as far north as Illinois & NY. They set their new wood in the winter for your summer crop. Since yours is a baby, you might not get fruit the first few years. But they do grow rapidly, so maybe earlier . . .
I've never tried that kind of fig, but I heard that they have sweet, delicious fruit. Good luck!
