I am looking into doing some composting mainly household with only yard waste at the end of summer. How many of you are using the tumblers (likes and dislikes) along with the worm composters?

Tumblers are a better option for smaller quantities of compost, very convenient and practical. But for large quantities it’s better to do it on an open pit using earthworms though it takes a lot of work to turn them.

I like the closed tumblers with worms since they are harder for the raccoons to break into. The open piles are smorgasborgs for happy raccoons. They eat out all the good stuff, and leave a stinky mess in their wake.
