Thread: Peach Trees

    Default Peach Trees

We had our peach tree pruned back this year. It has lots of peaches starting to grow, but the leaves are sparse. Do you think this is due to the effort the tree is putting out to produce the peaches. Should we fertilize it?

I would imagine that the tree is exerting more energy to fruit than to grow leaves, I am sure that it will begin growing more leaves again. From what I understand about trees, when they begin flowering (ie growing fruit) their leaf production slows and the water absorbed through the leaves is directed used to assist the growth of the fruits. I would like to know how the tree has been doing up until now as I see this post was placed a while ago.
