What is this on my plant?

Hello all :)

I'm trying to grow some sun flowers, and I think I have pests eating away at it! :eek:

Cluster of black dots:

Spots where the leaf turned clear: (Doesn't seem too significant, still would like to know if it's bugs or not)

I'd like to know what this is, what harm will it do and how to stop it.
I really think its bugs cause whenever I go out back there are tons of bugs, everywhere. I think we got more bugs in my backyard than half the state of Illinois! lol

If any of you want higher resolutions of the pics, or with out as much motion blur ( :P ) just give me a yell!
