Black Lace Elderberry

HI
I have 2 lovely black lace elderberry trees that have bloomed and done well for the last 3 years. This year, the leaves had come out and they looked good. But in the last week, they seem to by dying off. They look wilted, and their growth is stunted. Does anyone have any idea why that might happen?
We have had a lot of rain and the garden is quite wet.
Does anyone know what I should do about it?

mine have never done that. I would try to verify it isn't a pest of some sort and just hold tight, they're supposed to be very hardy.
