I have pulled up my tomato plants and am prepping the space for next year. I need to know what can/cannot be planted after nightshades. I do not necessarily have to put an edible in the space. We live on the Olympic Peninsula in zone 8

carrots supposedly do well near tomatoes
thank you Chris; what I am after is what will follow nightshades well without detrimental effects. I know that tomateos use a lot of nitrogen but anything else to consider?
if you want something that will not use a lot of nitrogen, anything in the legume family (peas, beans) will work, and help replenish your soil.
