What's your favorite plant, tree, veggie, etc to grow in the garden? Why's it your favorite?

My favourite tree is the Horse Chestnut, but I don't have a big enough garden to grow one. I live roses and I like growing them in the garden, especially the climbing ones.

I like lilacs. We used to have them but since we moved we haven't gotten any yet. I have never seen a Horse Chestnut tree. I will have to look this one up.

I would have to say that the Willow Tree is my favorite by far, because it reminds me so much of my grandmother.

I love willows too. They're just beautiful! But come summertime, my tomato plants are my favorite thing of all because they keep us going in BLT's for the entire summer!

I love Lilac Bushes. I don't have any of my own, yet, but I am thinking about placing them in the spot that isn't close to the house.

The only thing I don't like about Lilacs is that bees find them very attractive.

I love the dogwood because of its bark - oops! sorry, I couldn't resist.

The dogwood is not too big and in the spring it is filled with white or pink blossoms. In the fall the leaves turn red and in the winter the tree is covered with red berries - perfect food to attract birds to your garden.

Pandanus, coastal tree often called pandanus palm, a spectacular feature plant.

My kids really love snapdragons (they love snapping the "mouths" open close). I love growing tulips. :)

hmmm....

Favorite flowers = probably my red lilies in the front bed. Same color as our front door. They grow more beautiful every year. Can't wait to see them again in the spring.

Favorite garden veggie = ok, I know tomatoes are technically fruit, but I'd have to say tomatoes because we can salsa, stewed tomatoes, spaghetti sauce, etc. LOTS of uses.

Do you have a favorite paste tomato you use? I have cherokee purple as my slicer, some type of grape tomato each year but want a high yield meaty paste tomato for canning sauces.

I like Roma tomatoes for everythig- even pastes. They don't have too much seeds in them, which is great. :)
